Step Inside This Home Blogger’s French Country Cottage

French Country Cottage
When Courtney added the nearly 9-foot farmhouse dining table to her space, she says it didn’t feel balanced with just one chandelier, so two it was! The oversized chalkboard was a do-it-yourself project that came about after she couldn’t find one large enough for the dining room wall. (Photography by French Country Cottage)

Courtney began her blog, French Country Cottage, nearly seven years ago, before she even really knew what blogs were. “I was a stay-at-home mom and had been since my first baby was born,” she says. “When my kids were all older, I wanted to do something that was creative that allowed me to indulge in my love of decorating and design as well as be available and able to go on field trips as they came up.” Her sister mentioned that she should start a blog to document the renovations of their house, and the rest, as they say, is history. “I didn’t even read blogs at that time or know exactly what they were,” Courtney says, “but I thought, ‘Why not?’”
