Beautiful Formal Dining Room

The deep cased opening leading into the formal dining room from the hall was designed to set the room apart. Rather than being just another entry, the panels give the dining room a sense of formality not found in the rest of the house. An alcove in the dining room adorned with artwork depicting Louisiana pelicans serves as an ideal spot for a bar caddy. “This room is the only one in the house that we painted both the walls and trim gray,” notes the homeowner. “The only difference is that the walls have an eggshell finish, while the molding and casings are gloss.”
