TCJ: You’ve been pretty open on your blog about the struggles of being a mother and owning your own business. Where do you see yourself going next?

EK: Well, my secret-someday dream is to write a book or do writing of some kind, so that would be a goal of mine I’ve yet to accomplish! Until all my girls are in school though, I am consciously trying not to miss my time with them at home, and that sometimes means passing on opportunities that seem amazing at the moment. Constantly trying to find a balance between this urge to create burning inside of me and being present with my children. Balancing isn’t easy, but it is worth it! I figure opportunities come and go, but these four little women of ours are only little for so long. I don’t want to miss it.

TCJ: Going back to when you first started this Instagram/blogging journey, what advice would you give yourself?

EK: It’s the same advice I tell my IG buddies now: DO YOU + BE KIND. If you stick to those two mantras, the social media machine won’t eat you alive. There is always a way to chase your dreams, do what makes you happy AND lift others up along your journey. Stay true to what you know is YOU . . . and be kind while doing it.
