TCJ: The home you’re currently in isn’t your first one, and you’ve made a few renovations along the way. How do you think your style has evolved over the years?

EK: Let’s just say . . . the walls in ALL of my homes have been like Swiss cheese by the time I was done with them, ha! My style has evolved because I think of my home as a sort of canvas for my “art”—expressing beauty and creativity through my home’s style and décor. Not a big fan of staying in any sort of box for too long, so who knows what style I’ll play with next!

TCJ: You like to say that chippy paint is your love language (we agree!). What’re your top tips to get this finish?

EK: Well, my number one tip is buy vintage with authentic chips already there! When trying to recreate a vintage feel, I do it the old-school way: Take some sandpaper to it on the edges, corners and anywhere the furniture piece would naturally be touched a lot (handles, etc.).
