Upon entering the house you find two dining areas, a breakfast area to one side of the foyer, and the dining room on the other. The Cooneys’ dining room served as the living room for the previous owners. Today it hosts family dinners and parties. The breakfast area appears to have a rectangular table, but actually it’s two square tables with iron bases and marble tops.
As individual tables they are easy to move around the room when needed. The aluminum lamps hang on pulleys that can be lowered or raised. This comes in handy when dealing with centerpieces, Barbara explains. Cowhide has long been a favorite floor surface for Barbara. She proclaims it’s indestructible. And she loves the dark version on the light floors.
