“The Manns’ home has one of the most spectacular waterfront views I have had the privilege to work with,” Julie says. “It is what makes the home so special and inviting.” And so began the project of tackling the bathrooms, the kitchen and dining room area, and the entry. The most involved portion of the renovation was the kitchen, which took three months to complete.
The kitchen is the couple’s favorite space in the home. “It takes full advantage of the view with the new windows, and the finishes of the counters and cabinets are crisp and clean and frame the view well,” Leslie says. The view is clearly the star of the property that rests alongside Peachblossom Creek, inviting waterfowl, such as osprey, herons, and bald eagles, to nest and take flight.

“It’s a breathtaking spot surrounded by nature and wildlife that only enhances the interior,” says Julie. “I really wanted to embrace the outside, not compete with it for attention.” She adds that the land truly comes alive in the springtime, saying, “The trees and blossoms that surround this home in the spring fill it with life and beauty everywhere you look.”

The colors and finishes pay homage to the location. “The greens and blues came into play to highlight the water, sky, and trees in your line of sight from every window,” says Julie. Leslie and Ken couldn’t be happier in this home that has been a delightful surprise in their lives, where they can enjoy evenings relaxing on the patio, reading a book, or eating steamed crabs with friends and family.
They love the house because “it has a very warm family feeling to it,” Leslie says. And that’s what makes a house a home—with beautiful views to boot.
