While his tree may not be real, the garlands he hangs to highlight his front door and dining room are always a pleasing mix of fresh greenery. Although these natural embellishments stay vibrant-looking for only about two weeks, Ray resolves to replace them as needed. He’s also fond of incorporating potted flowering plants associated with the holidays in and amongst his tabletop settings, such as paper whites and amaryllis.
As a final touch, Ray loves to use colorful ribbons as tasteful fillers. “I think they add so much to my garlands and wreaths,” he points out. And as proof to his keen decorating eye, guests and friends readily agree.
