Kitchen Designed with Garden in Mind

This Virginia kitchen, inspired by the great outdoors, is a gardener’s delight.

With a sky-blue ceiling, a moss-green island, botanical curtain trims, and loads of light—this stunning kitchen was designed with a master gardener in mind. “Although any gourmand would be very happy in this kitchen, with its state-of-the-art appliances and generous work areas, elements throughout sought to satisfy the gardener rather than the cook,” the home’s designer explains.

Natural materials, such as reclaimed oak floors and Vermont soapstone and marble counters, combine with brilliant bay windows to bring the beauty of the great outdoors into this creative space.

Large expanses of windows in the bay and at the sink bring the outside in, while creamy walls, crisp white cabinets, and sparkling marble convey a clean slate for culinary adventures.

When the its doors are closed, this pantry blends into the wall with the other cabinets. Once you open them, you discover that cooking supplies are easily accessible on custom shelves, lighted for convenience.
