Bohemian, farmhouse, minimalist—there are a million words that we could use to sum up blogger Annie Anderson’s home, but none of them seem to be the perfect fit. A beautiful blend of styles that gorgeously represents her personality and her family’s lifestyle, Annie’s home has gone through a few different changes over the decade she and her family have resided there. She blogs about it all on her website, Zevy Joy—the name is a blend of her children’s names—and she gave us an inside look at her journey to finding out her style and to blogging.

The Cottage Journal: You’ve been on this blogging journey for around six years now, but you started out as a teacher. What did your path to becoming a blogger look like?

Annie Anderson: I taught for nearly 10 years, and at the end of my teaching career, I had a 3- and 1-year-old at the time. My heart longed to be home with them full-time. So, my husband and I rearranged things so that I could plan to do that. We went from being a two-income household to a one-income household, which brought me to blogging, as I wanted to share our journey through the process—how we did things on a budget and found joy in the everyday little things. I have always had a passion to be creative, and blogging enabled me to still do that while being home with my kiddos.
