The time-honored Plymouth story plays out through thoughtful details in her cozy cottage home, from fall-like figures on the stone porch steps to the simple scenes on antique dessert plates. Also at the table is an assortment of seasonal postcards dating back to the early 1900s. “My family especially loves cards with messages penned on the paper,” she says of the vintage notes. “We’ve made it a lively tradition to read the letters aloud and imagine what these happy families did to celebrate Thanksgiving.”
Elsewhere in the house, organic elements like pinecones, grasses, leaves, and gourds are a reminder of nature’s bounty. Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes play peek-a-boo in handmade nests, while other items are gathered and grouped into welcoming wreaths, sensational centerpieces, and even an old wagon overflowing with autumn’s blessings.
