Crafting from the Heart

Truly handcrafted, the collectables are first carved in pieces, and then Colin makes a mold of the carvings. When Colin shapes the animal’s body, he carves it approximately ¼-inch small and exaggerates the curves so the appealing shape of the body isn’t lost when fur is added. “This ensures that each creature is visually faithful to its real-life breed—and irresistibly touchable.” From there, the artist casts the porcelain, fires the pieces, and assembles each of the components.
