In giving his cottage a new lease on life, David has crafted a ready-made history that is still being written. “I think nothing suits a cottage more than the feeling of living in ‘reduced circumstances’ from some previous, grander time,” he says, “as if there’s some sort of nostalgia and a back story that’ll come out over a drink as the sun goes down.”
And it’s evident that his efforts have set the stage for enjoying engrossing tales and picture-perfect sunsets for years to come.
