To avoid the dark cabin look, a cottage approach was taken to the architecture and design of the interior, resulting in a light-filled, cheerful retreat. The timber-frame construction supports the structure without interior walls, making possible a large open great room with plenty of light. The children’s and family rooms are situated in a partial loft and are connected by an open walkway, a design which opens up space for a row of clerestory windows that illuminate the entire home with soft, natural light.
