Maine artist Alison Evans finds her inspiration by the sea.
As early as age 14, Alison Evans knew she was destined beyond a traditional office career path. “I knew I didn’t want to have to sit at a computer and be in an office,” she recalls, so she began dabbling in the creative. Alison took a ceramics class her sophomore year of high school and her natural talents simply flourished. Though it came as a surprise, Alison says, that she was really good at it. “I just got it right away.” It was evident from that time ceramics was a passion worth pursuit. “I was a tomboy growing up; I always loved playing with dirt—I was never scared of that kind of stuff,” she says.
