For the outdoor enthusiast, a vacation in the Alaskan wilderness should be on the top of your list.

Alyeska Resort sits in the heart of Girdwood, Alaska, a glacier-carved valley nestled against the awe-inspiring Chugach Mountains. In 1954, 11 Girdwood residents passed the hat and raised enough money to purchase what became the land base for a major ski area. Today, Alyeska Resort is an established ski destination known for its steep terrain and deep snowpack with slopes to please skiers of all skill levels.

Opening in 1994, the chateau-style Hotel Alyeska is the perfect base camp for the resort. Guests experience luxurious accommodations and a variety of eateries including the award-winning mountaintop Seven Glaciers restaurant that can be reached by a tram. At the Upper Tram Terminal, there is an observation deck providing breathtaking panoramic views of majestic mountains, hanging glaciers, sparkling streams, towering spruce, and an array of wildlife. The observation deck is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch or beautiful evening sunset. Telescopes are available along the deck. In the summer months, you can also enjoy exploring, berry picking, watching paragliders launch, and even hiking on a glacier. Alyeska is truly a year-round resort.
