From the basement entry, a stairway leads to the main floor and the living room that exudes an unexpected level of chic. Eve accomplished this by including creamy carpet and refined furnishings with enhanced drama from the showy chandelier and the shimmering draperies. She added dark wood for a mountain feel and expansive Lanai doors that open to stunning views. “It’s a perfect place to sit and watch a snowstorm. I considered that experience when selecting the white, creamy colors,” Eve recalls. The brick fireplace was already in the home, and Eve continued the same brick throughout the house, noticing that it creates different effects.
A long hallway leads to the rear of the house and opens to a spacious kitchen, a window banquette, and a family room. The banquette is a family-favorite spot, and Roman shades and fabric on the benches meet the design challenge of keeping it warm and comfortable against the windows during the cold winter months.
