A Potting Shed of Memories

3-Repository

Even when his ancestors didn’t use them, Michael opted for reclaimed and recycled materials to build the shed. The flooring and the wall of operable windows came from a friend’s house that was being remodeled. The big stainless steel sinks were rescued from an old restaurant and hooked up to a drain that carries wastewater back out to the garden. The horse collar under the work bench belonged to his uncle, who worked a vegetable garden with a mule-drawn plow until the 1980s. The ceiling fixtures are made from lamps like those in old school gymnasiums.
