1⁄2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons lime zest
1⁄4 cup fresh lime juice
1⁄4 cup water
3 cups fresh orange segments
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1⁄4 cup fresh mint, chopped
1⁄4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, and next 3 ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium- high heat, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and strain through fine-mesh sieve into small bowl. Let cool completely. Lime syrup can be made a day ahead and stored, covered in the refrigerator.
2. In a large serving bowl, combine fruit and mint. Add lime syrup, stirring gently to combine. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Sprinkle with toasted almonds before serving.
