Perhaps the most well-loved change is a once-screened-in porch which now serves as an artist’s dream sunroom, enclosed in glass to maximize the north-facing light. The sunroom overlooks a wooded neighborhood park and gives the illusion of being among the trees. “Somehow we all always end up there,” Laura says. “It’s the tiniest room in the house, but it has beautiful light, and you kind of feel like you’re in a tree house.” The light is not only captured in the sunroom but is abundant throughout the Blackstocks’ inviting cottage, a home well suited for the creative soul.
